Art theft at courthouse leaves painter bewildered

Paintings turn up missing on occasion, but seldom from the monitored halls of a courthouse. Imagine the surprise when local artist Bryan Schoening discovered he was the victim of such a theft.
Schoening, a local coffin maker and artist, said in a recent press release, that when the Pahrump Art Council announced a holiday show at the courthouse gallery, he decided to participate. He contributed three works, including a dark painting of a skull on a rusty saw blade.
