Police nab suspect in French art theft
MARSEILLE, France (AP) – French prosecutors say the main suspect in the theft about 30 works of art, including a Picasso, has been arrested.
The prosecutor’s office in the southern French city of Marseille says the suspect in last year’s theft is a 25-year-old with a police record who was arrested late last week as he returned to France after a stay in Thailand.

In December 2009, burglars stole 32 works of art worth a total of €500,000 ($667,000) from a private home in La Cadiere d’Azur, a medieval village in southern France.

In June, police recovered 27 of the works in the southern town of La Ciotat. A drawing by Pablo Picasso was among them. Many other works were by 20th Century artists from Provence.

Four other suspects have already been jailed.
