India – Shivaji plaques stolen from UoP

Hits: 1

Even as the dust settles after the furore over the removal of the statue of Shivaji’s mentor Dadoji Konddeo from the Lal Mahal, an unidentified miscreant has made off with two of the three copper plaques from the base of Shivaji’s statue installed on the premises of the University of Pune. The plaques bear a message on nature preservation from the legendary Maratha warrior to his ministers.

University of Pune security officer, Pralhad Laxman Jogdankar, has lodged a complaint with the Chatushrungi police stating that three copper plaques nailed to the base structure of the statue were stolen at around 10 pm on Monday.
