Kansas Cosmosphere flooded

HUTCHINSON, KS – Friday, crews were busy cleaning up the Kansas Cosmosphere. Employees arrived Friday morning to find about one-third of the basement level of the space museum had flooded.
Staff immediately went to work securing the artifacts and documents in the collection, while contractors arrived to remove the water and repair the leak. The leak was traced to a valve rupture in an adjacent building that’s under construction.
The museum is still open for business. Only a small portion of the Cosmosphere is closed to the public.
